You do. All those who have an account at ProMedica Federal Credit Union are co-owners. The credit union is a non-profit cooperative, private, full service bank. It is not a part of ProMedica but is dedicated exclusively to those associated with ProMedica and their immediate families. Once you are a member, you are a member for life, even if you leave ProMedica.
In 1973, a group of Toledo Hospital employees started their credit union. Today your credit union has $55 million dollars in assets and over 7400 members. Its success rests with its mission of building valued member relationships by offering convenient, personalized banking solutions.
Members Save Money
As a cooperative, the credit union gives it profits back to you in the form of low fee and great rates. For example, loans with your credit union carry no origination fee, no annual fee, and no pre-payment fees. There are over 190 ATMs in our area, totally FREE.
Members enjoy all the internet banking services free of charge, online banking, mobile banking, online bill pay, electronic statements, online applications, and access to your VISA account; offices in two hospitals and in the ProMedica Headquarters in Downtown Toledo.
Even if you leave ProMedica, you and your relatives can keep your accounts at the credit union for life. Once you become a member, your account is for life.
It’s the relationship.
When you ask a member why they do their banking at the credit union, they might mention better rates and no fees, but they almost always mention the relationship. The only reason ProMedica Federal Credit Union exists is to serve those who are associated with ProMedica and their families. Surveys of members reveal that they appreciate the individual attention and personal service they receive. It is your private bank.
Yes! Even if you leave or retire from ProMedica, you and your relatives can keep your accounts at the credit union. Once you become a member, your account is for life.

Account and Loan Information
You will need your driver’s license, hospital ID with employee number, and $25.00 opening deposit. You can open your account completely online here or do visit any of our branches to begin your membership in person.
Some members have an ATM-only card. This type of card can be used with Savings Accounts only. Some members have a card which is a combination Debit Card and ATM card. This card is linked with both your Savings and Checking account and can be used at an ATM and for point-of-sale purchases. A Debit Card purchase is just like writing a check. The purchase amount will be deducted automatically and instantly from your Checking Account. When using a Debit Card, choose “Credit” over “Debit” when signing. When you choose “Credit” the credit union is charged less of a fee.
Your $25 minimum deposit into a Savings Account establishes you as a member of ProMedica Federal Credit Union. It is your “share” of ownership in the credit union and the basis for opening all other accounts, using our member only services and benefits. As long as you maintain your $25 balance, you are a member of the credit union for life.
You will hear back from a Financial Service Representative within one business day.
