General Information

Yes, your money is federally insured up to $250,000 and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government by the National Credit Union Association (NCUA). Also, ProMedica Federal Credit Union offers Excess Shares Insurance (ESI), at no cost to you, that provides an additional $250,000 of insurance. So, your money is insured up to $500,000 at ProMedica Credit Union.
No, your account information is never shared outside of the credit union. We work with your payroll department from time to time regarding direct deposit and payroll deduction. No account activity or information is shared with any other party. For more information read our Privacy Disclosure.
We have over 190 Free ATMs in the Greater Toledo Area and over 40,000 Free nationwide ATMs, including ATMs in all 7-Eleven stores. There are 16 credit union ATMs in various ProMedica facilities, including: TTH/TCH, Flower, Bay Park, Bixby, Herrick, CHS, Wildwood, Paramount, The Summit Center and more. Membership Information

Membership is open to employees of ProMedica, ProMedica Affiliates, and all qualifying family members, including: spouses, parents, children, step-children, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and grandchildren.

You do. All those who have an account at ProMedica Federal Credit Union are co-owners. The credit union is a non-profit cooperative, private, full service bank. It is not a part of ProMedica but is dedicated exclusively to those associated with ProMedica and their immediate families. Once you are a member, you are a member for life, even if you leave ProMedica.

In 1973, a group of Toledo Hospital employees started their credit union. Today your credit union has $55 million dollars in assets and over 7400 members. Its success rests with its mission of building valued member relationships by offering convenient, personalized banking solutions.

Members Save Money
As a cooperative, the credit union gives it profits back to you in the form of low fee and great rates. For example, loans with your credit union carry no origination fee, no annual fee, and no pre-payment fees. There are over 190 ATMs in our area, totally FREE.

Convenience Services
Members enjoy all the internet banking services free of charge, online banking, mobile banking, online bill pay, electronic statements, online applications, and access to your VISA account; offices in two hospitals and in the ProMedica Headquarters in Downtown Toledo.

Lifetime Account
Even if you leave ProMedica, you and your relatives can keep your accounts at the credit union for life. Once you become a member, your account is for life.

It’s the relationship.

When you ask a member why they do their banking at the credit union, they might mention better rates and no fees, but they almost always mention the relationship. The only reason ProMedica Federal Credit Union exists is to serve those who are associated with ProMedica and their families. Surveys of members reveal that they appreciate the individual attention and personal service they receive. It is your private bank.

Yes! Even if you leave or retire from ProMedica, you and your relatives can keep your accounts at the credit union. Once you become a member, your account is for life.

Service and Support Information

Stop by any one of our branches with the person you wish to add to the account. Make sure he/she brings a valid driver’s license.

Please stop by any one of our branches to close your account. If you are unable to stop into one of our offices to close your account or membership, you may send in a notarized letter requesting your account to be closed.

    You have 30 days from the first initial withdrawal to pay back your Courtesy Pay.

    None! Our online services are free of charge.

    Yes, you can go into any of our branches to wire money or receive a wire. You must come into the branch because your signature is required on all wires. You will also need the name of the bank, the bank’s routing number, receiver’s name, address, and bank account number, and the reason for the wire. The cost is $25 and $50 for international wires. For incoming wires, please call any one of our branches for wiring information to give to sender.

    With our ProCall 24 hour Telephone Banking system, you can check balances, transfer funds, and review deposits, cleared checks, and withdrawals. If you do not already have a ProCall PIN, please call any of our branches. The 24-hour ProCall number is 419-479-4022.

    You can contact us to make your payment using an credit or debit card, use your other institution’s bill-pay service, or make your payment through the online Collect Pay portal.

    Account and Loan Information

    You will need your driver’s license, hospital ID with employee number, and $25.00 opening deposit. You can open your account completely online here or do visit any of our branches to begin your membership in person.

    Members who have only a Savings account with PFCU will have an ATM card that can be used for ATM transactions. Members who have both Checking and Savings accounts have a card which is a combination Debit Card and ATM card that is linked with both Savings and Checking accounts and can be used at an ATM and for point-of-sale purchases. A Debit Card purchase is just like writing a check. The purchase amount will be deducted automatically and instantly from your Checking Account. When using a Debit Card, choose “Credit” over “Debit” when signing. When you choose “Credit” your credit union is charged less of a fee.

    The daily purchase amount using your Debit Card is $2,500.

    Your $25 minimum deposit into a Savings Account establishes you as a member of ProMedica Federal Credit Union. It is your “share” of ownership in the credit union and the basis for opening all other accounts, using our member only services and benefits. As long as you maintain your $25 balance, you are a member of the credit union for life.
